about

Ananda was the “beloved disciple” and devoted companion of Buddha and the sanskrit word literally means bliss or happiness, specifically the eternal bliss which accompanies the ending of the rebirth cycle.

Ryan was studying Eastern Philosophy both as part of his education and for his personal enlightenment, and for a time in the late 90's drove around with a copy of 'Siddhartha' by Hermann Hesse, so it's no surprise one of his trippier instrumentals carries a Buddhist related title.

Dave Aftandilian of the Voice of Chicago Free Press wrote, "Seen through the kaleidoscopic glass of Love Spirals Downwards, the world becomes a wonderfully irrational place, where very little makes sense, but everything feels right... capped off b ythe incredibly cool fairy-dance-whilring leaf rattling trip of "Ananda," theirs is a world you will want to make your on, even if it slips through your fingers."
